2016 was my first year attending Austin Fashion Week and IΒ fell in love! There were fashionableΒ people everywhere and the fashion shows were something I have never experienced before in my life!
I had so much fun attending in 2016 and 2017! I also had the opportunity to meet and talk with so many up-and-coming designers. I interviewedΒ Lauren Nicole about her Fall/Winter 2016 line. I was able to meet and hang out with beauty vlogger Natalie fromΒ Ginger Me Glam. I was able to take in the amazingness that isΒ Hues of Man!! This menswear, lifestyle, and culture blogger hasΒ IMPECCABLEΒ style.Β I am happy I was able to meet and hang out with him for a bit. I also was able to invite the newly crownedΒ Miss Austin Texas Latina, Katelyn Anzaldua, to join me on my second day at AFW 2016.
On top of those experiences, I was exposed to say many amazing fashion designs and fashion designers.
You can also say that I learned a lot and was left with a fashion itch.
Now, itβs been FIVE YEARSΒ since my last Austin Fashion Week and we are ready to kick things off!!
Austin Fashion Week will consist primarily of daytime runway shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 29, 30 and May 1, 2022.
All shows will be in person and outdoors with AFW partners at The Domain.
For Spring 2022, Austin Fashion Week will start with an intimate lunch on Friday, April 29 at Flemingβs Prime Steakhouse. Enjoy a fireside chat with Project Runway Star Brittany Allen hosted by Society Texas Founding Editor Lance Avery Morgan. The runways kick off Friday at 2:30. Saturday and Sunday will each feature 2 shows per day at 2:30 and 4:30. Each show will feature 70-80 looks from established and emerging designers.
Having daytime shows allows for more opportunities to support AFW partners at The Domain and to give flexibility in everyoneβs schedules. Restaurants and bars will offer special menus and items for Austin Fashion Week ticket holders. Each runway show will also feature a series of pop up shops and sponsor activations, opening at Noon daily until 6:00 pm.
VIP opportunities will continue, in partnership with one or more of The Domain retailers. Imagine a VIP stroll where you can collect VIP βgift bagβ items at your favorite stores in the Domain. Or pop up bars hosted by local brands.
