TNL’s Award-Winning Salsa

Food Lifestyle

Yay! In honor of our return to Taco Tuesdays at Casa Gonzalez, I am finally sharing my award-winning salsa recipe! I have won the Salsa competition at work three years in a row now and I have to say, my salsa is pretty damn good. Haha. Feel free to change, remove, or add anything to your liking. Cooking is art so we are all bound to do it differently. <3

TNL’s Award-Winning Salsa Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 Tomatoes of Varying Sizes, Chopped
  • 2 Medium Jalapeno Peppers*
  • 2 Regular Serrano Peppers*
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/4 to 1/2 Cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 1/2 to 2 Tsp Ground Cumin

  • 1 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice (about 1/2 lemon, juiced)

* Leave the seeds in for an extra kick. ;)

Instructions

  1. Broil or roast the Tomatoes, Jalapeno Peppers, Serrano Peppers, and Garlic Cloves for about 12 minutes, turning over half way through
  2. Let the roasted vegetables cool for about 30 minutes
  3. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor blend or mix to your liking (some like it more chunky vs. more watery)
  4. Taste the salsa and add more of any ingredients as desired
  5. Transfer to a bowl and enjoy!
