I was around 8 when I was first introduced to Las Vegas. My parents had been visiting for years, but it wasn’t until I watched a special about Las Vegas on The Travel Channel that I began to notice.
I was also really into the Rugrats and in 1997 Nickelodeon came out with “A Rugrats Vacation” where Tommy, Chucky, Phil, Lil, and Angelica go on a Vegas adventure. Their adventure along with their rendition of “Vacation” was enough to hook me to the idea of Vegas at the age of 8.
Las Vegas always seemed magical to me even before I truly knew the magic of it. Las Vegas is a place that suggests that the rest of the world is the desert and IT is the oasis. There is no other place that captures the full spirit of America than Las Vegas for me.
I love living in Texas and I will most likely never live anywhere else, but Vegas will always be my second love. Las Vegas is still one Amerian city that still feels distinct. There really is no other place like it. And, like me, Las Vegas is very good at adapting. That city can reinvent itself to accommodate whatever comes along. That is why I love it so much.
I love to party and I dabble a little in gambling, but the one attribute about Las Vegas that really made me fall in love with it is that against all odds Las Vegas was able to come out of the arid Nevada desert a glittering spectacle.
I can go on and on about the many reasons I love Vegas, but you really have to see it to believe it!
