Foodie Friday: Hay Elotes!! – Austin, TX

This past summer I was really excited to take my sister to experience the amazingness that is Hay Elotes!! I ordered a Chamoyada and she ordered a Mangonada, a specialty drink made of blended mango and liquid chamoy.. We both ordered their signature corn in cup with lime and chile. I think it’s safe to say that we will be going together a lot once she moves to Austin starting in the fall.

Holy Mole! Celebrating Las Posadas!

Last year, my boyfriend and I decided to start having an annual posada at our place. This year it will be the last posada we have in an apartment before we move into a house. I want to make it an extra special holiday party because of this, so I decided to make mole for my first time for the party.

But, of course, I wanted to test it out first before then. I am so excited because it actually came out AMAZING!! And it is a super simple recipe that anyone could follow and make using a slow cooker.

Remembering Abuelita with Santos Sabores

The taste of a frozen lemon pospsicle brings back memories of spending the night with all my cousins at my grandma’s house. My grandma had a thing for bolis and paletas. For some reason she was always fully stocked when we arrived. She didn’t offer actual food to us when we walked through her door. Instead she offered us sweet frozen goodness. That is one of the biggest memories my whole family has of her.
