Happy Monday y’all! I feel like it’s been FOREVER since I last posted. Life has been CRAZY. With work, wedding planning, and trying to spend time with friends and family there hasn’t been much time for me to sit down and write a post. And, it sucks, because I also haven’t had much one on one time with the fiance in the past month and a half. So, we decided to finally PLAN a date night out, just the two of us, to Painting with a Twist.
The fianceΒ is the artist out of the both of us. He knows how to draw and paint. I love how happy he looks when he is “in the zone” while he is painting. I think it really calms him down. When I found the Painting with a Twist near us, I thought it would be the PERFECT date night for us. I like wine, the fiance likes to paint…it was a match made in heaven.
We attend the “Paint Your Pet” class at Painting with a Twist. And, if you know how much we love our pup, we were super excited to get to paint the pup!! The class was also really neat because all the proceeds from the class went toΒ PWAP Starfish Cat and Kitten Rescue.
Upon walking in, I was struck by the bright colors, open spaces, and great music! Along the walls, they have displayed many of the paintings they can offer, along with βrulesβ for painting (which is mainly just have fun with it). There is a main room, visible from the front door and a smaller party room as well. The studio has a βBring Your Ownβ policy (beverages and snacks), and there is a long table provided in the main room to put all of your goodies.
Blank canvases were set up for each of us, and our names were posted underneath a canvas. Paints and brushes were already nearby and ready to use! Our instructor/artist was quick to engage us in conversation and help ease any fears we may have had.
The whole process took fewer than three hours β and a decent amount of that time was spent chatting across the tables, singing to some great guilty pleasure music, and partaking in our BYO food and drink.
My favorite part is that, when you are done with your painting and have gone home, if there is something you absolutelyΒ need to fix about your painting they have an S.O.S. class on SaturdaysΒ where you can visit for their free open studio and work on some touch-ups you may want to make.
The fiance and I had a great time and weΒ will definitely be back!
Excited to put up the paintings of our pup in our home! Share your Painting with a Twist portraits on social media using the hashtagΒ #PWATinteriors!!
