I am baaaack with the blogs y’all! Today, I wanted to share a little bit on where I have started my holiday shopping early this year. There are two events that I wanted to share with you all. <3
Frida Friday ATX is Austin’s premier WoC centered monthly marketplace and cultural event. We are an intentionally intersectional grassroots movement that supports and amplifies BIPOC, WoC and community creatives. Our monthly markets create opportunities for economically marginalized communities to share their projects, connect and celebrate our diverse cultures.
Obviously, with COVID-19 everything looks a little different this year. But, not to worry! Frida Friday ATX is also VIRTUAL. I will be shopping Black Friday slash Small Biz Saturday at Frida Friday ATX! Mark your calendars for 11/27 and 11/28 in person at Revival Coffee and Virtual at @fridafridayatx.
The Blue Genie Art Bazaar (BGAB) originated from our parent company, Blue Genie Art Industries (BGA), a nationally recognized creative firm specializing in large scale commercial fabrication of three dimensional objects, monuments, exhibits, themed environments, and artist services. BGAB is maintained by the original owners: Chris Coakley, Rory Skagen, Kevin Collins, and Dana Younger.
This year the storefront is open from 11/13 through 12/24! I went by last week and was able to make a reservation for a 3-hour shopping window. I was able to find 4 gifts! They are offering a variety of ways to shop this year including: Shopping In-Store, Shop Online & Have It Shipped, Shop Online & Pick It Up, Personal Shopper, and a Private Shopping Experience.
To shop in store you will need to make reservations. Reservations: Make a FREE reservation online to ensure a βno-waitβ entry! Reservations are available in 3-hour blocks and the total reservations are capped at 150 to limit the amount of shoppers on-site at any time. CLICK HERE TO RESERVE TICKETS.
Where will you be doing your holiday shopping this year? I will always let y’all know that shopping local is where it’s that. But, especially this year. It’s been a hard year for everyone and now is the time to give back to local shops and vendors because they need us more than big box chain retailers.
I hope y’all have the most amazing Thanksgiving if I don’t post before then. <3 Stay safe, wear a mask, and keep your social distance y’all.
Stay in love,
