Happy Friday! I am SUPER excited to do my post on New Orleans! It’s almost been a whole two weeks since I was there and I am already missing the FUN AND ADVENTUROUS air.
When the bride invited me to New Orleans for her bachelorette, I was a little nervous. Girls’ Trips, in general, make me nervous after a bad experience I had. I was excited to go back to NOLA, though, since the last time I was there it was for my brawda’s big 2-1.
Although I didn’t hit up NOLA for my bachelorette, it’s the PERFECT place for a bachelorette. There is SO MUCH to do! And the food is AMAZING!
To Stay
Southern Belle Bridal Suite NOLA
8714 Oak Street
New Orleans, LA 70118
SUPER CUTE AND COZY! I love the Airbnb the bride booked for the weekend. It was amazing! It was on a super busy and up-and-coming street with a lot of restaurants around it. We were right down the street from La Casita Taqueria and Jacques-Imo’s. I will be FOR SURE staying there again on my next trip to New Orleans!
To Do
The Voodoo Bone Lady Haunted Tours
701 Royal Street
New Orleans, LA 70116
THIS TOUR IS EVERYTHING! But, a funny story first. Haha. I actually led the group to the wrong tour at first. And, I hated it. The tour guide was a little stuck up and not personable at all. I was confused because the hubby had told me how amazing the tour was. It turns out that we were actually on the wrong tour, to begin with. Hahaha. Good times! When we finally ended up on the right tour, I was so happy we did. They were amazing and our tour guide, Brian, was LEGIT. I recommend The Voodoo Bone Lady Haunted Tours over any other haunted ghost tour!
Jean Lafitte Swamp and Airboat Tours
6601 Leo Kerner Lafitte Parkway
Marrero, Louisiana 70072
A swamp tour is exactly what it sounds like, A TOUR THROUGH THE SWAMP. So be ready for some sweaty entertainment looking for some gators. Even though we were SWEATY AF, we had a really good time thanks to our tour guide. We were a little sad because we didn’t get to see as many gators as we hoped for. But, we made the best of it and were really excited about the ones we did get to see. The highlight of the trip was when we finally got to hold a real-life alligator. Some of the girls kinda freaked out. Haha. But it was all fun and games since the baby gator had his jaws taped. This is the type of tour you have to do AT LEAST once, but you probably won’t be doing it every single time you go to New Orleans.
To Eat
BRUNCH
613 Royal Street
New Orleans, LA 70130
We had plans to have brunch somewhere else, but some of the girls weren’t quite ready so we ended up having to look for a different place to brunch at. One of the girls had asked her Lyft driver for recommendations and he recommended The Court of Two Sisters. I AM SO HAPPY HE DID! Even though it wasn’t our first choice, it ended up being an amazing brunch! There was a variety of different food from Cajun favorites to southern comfort food. The omelette station was amazing and you had to option to add a Cajun seafood favorite on top of it. It was a great choice and I will definitely be back.
DINNER
8324 Oak Street
New Orleans, LA 70118
I have heard about this restaurant for so many different people. The hubby went here for his bachelor party since my brother kept recommending it to him. Again, we ended up missing our dinner reservation so we were looking for a place to eat near the Airbnb. Jacques-Imo’s Cafe ended up being right down the street from the Airbnb. It was AMAZING! We had a lot of the appetizers to start off with. And I ended up having some lamb for dinner. The cornbread was amazing and so were the desserts. There were also some char-grilled oysters across the street being sold which were BOMB even with all the other food I ate. Haha.
Nightlife
Bourbon Street
The place to go to for all the ratchetness you can ever hope for! The iconic Bourbon Street did not disappoint. We had a great time and danced the night away every single night. The Bride kept getting called out and she looked so happy the whole time to be out and about. There are a few bars that really stood out like The Beach and The Swamp. Those were our favorites and I will be returning to those fine establishments when I return.
I had a great time in New Orleans and I can’t wait to be back!
