A two for one post Thursday!!
This SXSW I had theΒ amazing opportunity to interview an up and coming singer/songwriter at SXSW!!
I have had the opportunity to interview many up and coming artists during SXSW and other live music events, but I am very picky about who I interview. I really want to believe in the artist and their music.
Upon learning about Raymundo and listening to his music I knew I wanted to interview him.Β Raymundo is a Latin pop singer/songwriter from Cali. He has made headlines in Los Angeles by overcoming obstacles and being able to open for acts like Juanes, Enrique Iglesias, Nelly Furtado and more!Β He is an amazing singer and I know he is going to do AMAZING things!!

Thank you so much Raymundo for the interview! I wish you the best!! I believe in you and your music!!
RaymundoΒ was born and raised in South El Monte, CA to two hard working Mexican parents who nurtured his talent at a very early age. He first started singing and performing music professionally at the age of 9 . After 6 years with βMariachi Juvenil Voz de Americaβ, he was promoted to the senior group βMariachi Voz de Americaβ. They shared the stage with Blink 182 during a tribute to the band, which was very well received by the band and garnered them a spot on MTV news. Raymundo has now shifted his focus to his solo music career by releasing his first EP, “En Mi Cuarto (In My Room)” in 2010, featuring musical arrangements and production by βAngryβ Mike Eleopoulos (Fergie, Justin Timberlake, Luis Miguel) (www.angrymike.com), Richard Mata , Raymundo’s musical director in Mariachi Voz de America for 10 years, and upcoming fresh and talented producer, David Soto III who he wrote his first full length album “SoΓ±ar. Creer. Realizar.” with in 2013. Raymundo’s music and voice has been compared to successful artist like Reik, Frankie J, and Jason Mraz. Raymundo has performed the national anthem several times for Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center. He was crowned “La Estrella Del Reventon 2010” on Primera Edicion (Univision Los Angeles) by his fans, where he opened for Enrique Iglesias, Nelly Furtado, Alejandra Guzman and more at the the world famous Staples Center. In 2015, Raymundo’s dreamers petitioned through social media to get him to open for one of his favorite artists, JUANES, and accomplished this dream at full force. Juanes, his team & audience welcomed Raymundo to his stage with open arms.
