BRING ON THE MEATS! Hot Luck is a match made in heaven for me. It includes my two loves of food and music. The brainchild of Aaron Franklin, Hot Luck is situated at the intersection of modern Texas culture, family traditions and rock ‘n’ roll. Hot Luck is what happens at the fire—in the flames. It’s where the […]

TNL Reviews: Hot Luck 2018

Hot Luck is a match made in heaven for me. It includes my two loves of food and music. Hot Luck Festival is a food and music festival from Aaron Franklin, James Moody, and Mike Thelin. Hot Luck is what happens at the fire—in the flames. It’s where the inspiration turns into food. And that food feeds the people, and the music, and the next round of crazy ideas that flicker to life.

So I knew it would be a treat that would make him happy and that always makes me happy. I hope you get inspired to get your hands on the ingredients and make some of the yummiest cookies you will ever have.

This past summer I was really excited to take my sister to experience the amazingness that is Hay Elotes!! I ordered a Chamoyada and she ordered a Mangonada, a specialty drink made of blended mango and liquid chamoy.. We both ordered their signature corn in cup with lime and chile. I think it’s safe to say that we will be going together a lot once she moves to Austin starting in the fall.

Foodie Friday – Joe’s Bakery & Mexican Food

I am extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food. When I first heard of Joe’s from a friend, I am not gonna lie, I was thinking, “You are full of s***!” The thing is that ever since I came to Austin I hadn’t found a place that truly, really, sincerely reminded me of the food from back home. There are AMAZING places in and around town, but most of them have one or two things on the menu that I actually love.
