Happy Thursday! I am SUPER excited to do my post on San Diego! It’s almost been two weeks since I was there and I am already missing the COOL summer air. Texas summers can get old reeeealΒ quick! Haha
When the bride invited me to San Diego for her bachelorette, I was a little nervous. Girls’ Trips, in general, make me nervous after a bad experience I had. I was excited to go back to San Diego,Β though, since the last time I was there it was for a family trip.
Although I won’t be hitting up San Diego for my bachelorette, it’s the PERFECT place for a bachelorette. There is SO MUCH to do! The weather is PERFECT! And the food is AMAZING!
To Stay
Hard Rock Hotel San Diego
207 Fifth Ave
San Diego, CA 92101
Right in the middle of the action! I loved this hotel because it’s right in the Gaslamp Quarter. You have access to a bunch of food, drinks, and entertainment. My favorite part of the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego was the pool party. We didn’t spend the whole day there, but it was a fun time a couple of minutes we were there.

The second hotel we stayed at was on the final day of the trip. We chose a different, calmer area of San Diego. But, I absolutely LOVED this hotel. It is literally 5 minutes from the airport. They have two resort style pools. They also have paddle boarding, kayaking, and bicyclesΒ for rent. My favorite part of this hotel was how close it was to the airport. I was in no rush, which really made me feel like I was on vacay.
To Do
Gaslamp Quarter
The Gaslamp Quarter is a district of San Diego, California. It is a 16Β½ block historical neighborhood in Downtown San Diego, and is the site of several entertainment and night life venues, as well as scheduled events and festivals, including Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp, Street Scene Music Festival, Taste of Gaslamp and ShamROCK, a St. Patrick’s Day event. Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres is located one block away in downtown San Diego’s East Village.
La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The Cove is protected as part of a marine reserve; underwater it is very rich in marine life, and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers. This was the perfect getaway from the Gaslamp Quarter.
To Eat
UNION Kitchen & Tap Gaslamp

Quinn’s Ale House
1380 Harbor Island Dr
San Diego, CA 92101
Best hotel food I have had in my whole life! Yes, this restaurant is inside a hotel, but once the food arrives you completely disregard that.Β As America’s Capital of Craft Beer, Quinn’s Ale House now showcases locally crafted world-class beer and award winning breweries. Their beer taps change constantly, but their philosophy has remained the same – serve well-crafted beers and spirits paired with an unmatched warming experience.

El Chingon
560 Fifth Ave
San Diego, CA 92101
This was my favorite place in Gaslamp. It was super Mexican themed and super fun! The staff was super nice and they had a pretty extensive drink menu. Bottle service here was easy and they were straight to the point. Lively, two-story destination for Mexican eats & cocktails with tequila & mezcal.

I don’t even want to touch this subject, but STAY AWAY from this place. We were offered “comped” bottle service one night and had a reservation the second night. Both nights, we were kicked out of the table that was reserved for us. The first night, another group of girls claimed that the table they sat us at was theirs. The second night, they said something about having to be at a $2,000 minimum per table right before they shooed us away and gave our table to someone else. I don’t care where we are or what the rules are…be up front with a group from the beginning and have some manners instead of kicking people out. And how did they know we couldn’t pay the $2,000 minimum? Ugh. Some might call this place “exclusive” and I just call it TRASH.
And no pictures because I am salty like that.
I had a great time in San Diego and I can’t wait to be back!
