A week from now my girls and I will be in the middle of the craziness of Sin City!!!
This trip was planned during a drunken Wine Wednesday get together. One of my coworkers was on her way to Vegas and I was expressing my jealousy to my sorority sisters. We all laughed and someone said, “We should just go to Vegas. Like we should just book our flights right now.” Sure enough the next day they announced that the Cotto vs. Canelo fight would be the weekend of November 20th and 2 of the girls booked their flights. I bought my ticket the next day after talking with the boyfriend, Julian. Then the other two girls booked their flight and here we are!
I am BEYOND excited! This will be my first girls’ trip without my mom. My mom and I are super close and it makes me a little sad that I will be going on a girls’ trip without her. I am excited to bond and to party with my girls though! 3 of the girls joining me are my sorority sisters and I also invited one of my friends from college. It will be interesting to see how both my worlds collide while we are on our vacation.
We will be staying at the MGM Grand in a Queen Executive Suite. I have seen some pictures and YouTube videos of the suite and like what I have seen so far. Fingers crossed that the room is somewhat decent. I have heard only good things about the hotel overall so far.
I have spent the last several weeks coming up with a list of the best happy hours in Vegas so that we have a good idea of how much we are going to be spending. I will post the list on my 4th post once I have visited some of the happy hours on my list.
I have also spent a bunch of time re-learning how to play craps. The first time I played was in New Orleans and I fell in love with it. Last year, my mom and I went to Vegas to celebrate my 25th birthday and I introduced her to craps and now she is also a fan. I wanted to relearn the rules before I play again this time around. I have picked up on mostly everything so far and I am excited to finally play again. I just will have to be careful not to go too crazy!
Our sorority has an unofficial brother fraternity and one of their members is a promoter in Vegas and has graciously offered to take us under his wing for the weekend. He was great and sent us a list of all the concerts, shows, and special events going on while we are there. We chose everything we wanted to go to and he RSVP’ed us. This includes anything from free entry to open bar. Of course, he made sure to tell us (multiple times) that when a promoter tells you to be there at a certain time, they MEAN IT! So I hope we can be sure to always be on time for our RSVP’s. He is an amazing person and if you are planning you should totally reach out to him to help you out. We have Calvin Harris and Diplo on our list so far. We also are intersted in Lil’ Jon, Steve Aoki, and Trey Songz. We just also want to venture out and go to many different clubs.
