Every now and then I get really homesick. When I first moved to Austin from Del Rio, TX I would go home several times a month. It was hard for me to let go and to move on. That and I missed the food terribly. I was so used to having Mexico right across the border that I really did take it for granted.
When I found out there was an event called “Taste of Mexico” happening in Austin, I could not contain my excitement!! FINALLY!!!
Since 1998, Mexic-Arte Museumβs Taste of Mexico has become one of the leading Mexican and Latin American inspired culinary events of the year. This culturally conscious and historical celebration of Cinco de Mayo invites guests to generously sample creative cuisines from over 50 of Austinβs most eclectic and exciting restaurants, food trucks, and beverage purveyors. Alongside fine tequilas and mezcales, Taste of Mexico will expose attendees to regional specialties and contemporary fusions that boast a rich array of flavors and influences.
TheΒ day is set for Taste of Mexico! Join The Nueva Latina on Wednesday, May 2nd, from 6-9pm at Brazos Hall in downtown Austin for amazing Mexican food and a great time!
