Let’s dig in to a little bit more about SXSW and keep reading for my personal list of top SXSW RSVPs and Events!
What is SXSW?
South by Southwest (aka SXSW aka South By aka SX) is an annual festival for film, interactive media, and music. It is basically a bunch of different conferences organized at the same time that take place in mid-March in Austin. SXSW began in 1987 and has continued to grow every year. In 2020, the conference will last for 9 days featuring a variety of tracks that allow peeps to explore whatβs next in the worlds of film, culture, music, and technology.
There are also three festivals going on during SX: film, music, and comedy.
The SXSW Film Festival celebrates raw innovation and emerging talent from both behind and in front of the camera. The SXSW Music Festival invites artists, industry professionals, and fans from all over the world to Austin for one week attend performances by iconic artists, make professional connections, elevate their musical careers, and discover the next wave of musical talent. The SXSW Comedy Festival has grown from one night only to a whole week long festival that presents uniquely diverse programming that highlights exceptional emerging and established talent.

SXSW RSVPs? What’s that?
SXSW is known, by most people, as nine days of free events and parties featuring free food, free drank, and performances by both seasoned and up-and-coming artists from all over.
There are many sites now that will RSVP you automatically to every. single. event. Buuuuut, it can get crazy in your email and nobody has time for that at the end of the day. I mean, are you REALLY going to attend every single event.
My favorite SXSW RSVP database is provided by ATX Concert. It’s only $10 for the subscription for the SXSW season and you get to look through the events and choose what you really want to RSVP for.
