My phrase of the year is “The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change their future by merely changing their attitude.” I haven’t always been the best at accepting change and have had to learn to let go of things that I have no control over. This year I really want to focus on changing my attitude in moments of change and try to see things from all sides.

HELLO 2022! Y’ALL…WE HAVE OFFICIALLY SURVIVED 2020 AND 2021 Y’ALL! I can’t believe 2022 is here ALREADY here! The past year went by super fast! January is one of my favorite months because it serves as a month to START OVER for many of us. We now have 361 days left in 2022 and that is […]
You Failed Your Licensing PE Exam. Now What?
I have never been the best test taker. I am not sure when a piece of paper became my worst nightmare. When I opened the results page and saw “FAIL” for the second time in a row, I was devastated. I Googled “failed the PE Exam. Now what?” And I kept finding articles about how to study better the next time around or how to develop a better study strategy. It didn’t help.
20-Something Crisis
Sometimes, life catches up with you. Two weeks after my first post on The Nueva Latina, life decided to punch me in the face (and then kick me while I was down…just for funsies.) Here’s the story about how I was unceremoniously—fired.
I Started Listening to ASMR During Work
Then the thought popped in my head…ASMR. Is there hair brushing ASMR? A simple search on Google revealed that, YES, there is hair brushing videos all over the web and on YouTube. I decided to listen to the first one that came up on my search. It has 8.4 Million views to date, so it couldn’t be that bad? Right?
Exam Prep: Study Tips for Everyone
This list was developed after studying and failing the PE Exam twice. I have learned so much about myself and how I study, so my list comes from experience on what worked and what didn’t work for me.
How to Survive Your First Week of Work
This was my first week of work and let me tell you, shit got real! I had interned at this company this past summer, yet becoming a full-time was a lot to adjust to. I have put together a list of things that I wish I had done along with what I did right during my internship and the first week of working in the real world.
Hello 2018! Word of The Year and January 2018 Goals
Setting goals is essential for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You’ll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray.
I have also decided on my WORD OF THE YEAR!!! Every year, I pick a word that will be my guide for my life. This year, my word is JOY. I really want to focus more on doing things and taking opportunities that make ME happy. This past year was a little tough for me and looking back I realized that I wasn’t happy for most of it. I feel that if I look at every opportunity that is laid before me and ask myself “Will this bring me JOY?” and “Will I look back and be happy I did this?” And then if I stick to bringing JOY into my life everything else will fall into place.
If At First You Don’t Succeed, Dust Yourself Off And Try Again
So, how did I get over it? Time. Lots of time. And I threw myself into studying harder than before to ensure that I could pass the exam the second time around. And, honestly, I don’t know if I passed or not. I feel like it’s possible that I did and I pray that I did. But, if I happened to fail again, I know it’s not the end of the world. I will just dust myself off and try again.
5 Planners to Keep 2017 Totally Organized
If you’re anything like me, your planner makes or breaks your productivity. Having a yearly and monthly calendar, to-do list, and planning space at your fingertips helps you to feel in control over life’s chaos. Think of a planner as a centralized area for all of your organizational needs. I am OBSESSED with planners and I think you should be too! The planners I love the most are the ones that offer more than a calendar. My goal with this post is to equip you with space to dream, outline goals, and plan this next year with purpose so you can achieve success!
