TNL Travels: New Orleans, Louisiana

When the bride invited me to New Orleans for her bachelorette, I was a little nervous. Girls’ Trips, in general, make me nervous after a bad experience I had. I was excited to go back to NOLA, though, since the last time I was there it was for my brawda’s big 2-1. Although I didn’t hit up NOLA for my bachelorette, it’s the PERFECT place for a bachelorette. There is SO MUCH to do! And the food is AMAZING!

TNL Travels: Getting Ready for NOLA and Packing List

I am officially 1 day away from my trip to NOLA for a friend’s bachelorette party weekend. I haven’t been to New Orleans since 5 years ago for my baby brawda’s big 2-1. Hello 2018! Word of The Year and January 2018 Goals

Setting goals is essential for thinking about your ideal future, and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have to concentrate your efforts. You’ll also quickly spot the distractions that can, so easily, lead you astray.

I have also decided on my WORD OF THE YEAR!!! Every year, I pick a word that will be my guide for my life. This year, my word is JOY. I really want to focus more on doing things and taking opportunities that make ME happy. This past year was a little tough for me and looking back I realized that I wasn’t happy for most of it. I feel that if I look at every opportunity that is laid before me and ask myself “Will this bring me JOY?” and “Will I look back and be happy I did this?” And then if I stick to bringing JOY into my life everything else will fall into place.

“I Do Too” – How We Included Da Pup in Our Wedding

I was always one of those people that would judge other people who loved their pets like humans. The first day I met Chapo when I picked him up, I could have sworn I made the worst mistake of my life. He kept whining on the drive back to Austin because I had him in a little crate in the back. Halfway home, I pulled over to the side and took him out of the crate. I placed him on my lap and started driving again. He cuddled up and put his little head in this little “cave” spot in between my arm and the seat belt. My heart melted and I fell in love.

Although I won’t be hitting up Playa del Carmen for my bachelorette, it’s the PERFECT place for a bachelorette. There is SO MUCH to do! The weather is PERFECT! And the food is AMAZING!
