First things first, SXSW is NOT just a music festival y’all. Apparently this is the biggest misconception of SX so many people don’t join in on the fun because they just don’t really know anything about it. South by Southwest® (SXSW®) celebrates the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture. With events ranging from sessions and panels to meetups and mentorship opportunities to concerts, films, and comedy shows; there is something from everyone at SXSW.

If you have been following me for a while you knooooow how much I love this time of year in the ATX. 💞 I wanted to share some tips and tricks with y’all who have never been or those of you that have been but don’t know how to navigate it. 🙌🏽

South By can be a lot because there is a lot y’all. 😅 The best thing to know about SXSW is that you won’t be able to do everything or get into every single show or party…so you just gotta keep vibing no matter where you end up. 😎

✨SXSW TOP TIPS & TRICKS✨

Do not pay for an RSVP list.
Follow @thedirtyteam on Instagram for RSVPs, info, rumors, etc.
RSVP to everything even if you probably won’t make it to everything.
Create a new label or whole new email account just for SX!
If you hear a rumor happening the day of, RESEARCH first then go with your gut.
Collect ALL the wristbands.
Fly Solo, Meet Up When Possible
Leave the swag if you don’t need it
If you can afford the badge, buy it!
Wear comfy shoes. I have ran, yes ran, in the past after hearing someone was performing a pop up concert. 🏃🏽‍♀️
Drink Water. Super simple tip but, trust me, you tend to forget. 😅
Prepare for all the weather. ☀️ ⛅️ 🌧 SXSW time tends to bring all the seasons with it.
Carry cash with you ✨just in case✨. You never know where SX will take you.
Live it up! 💃🏽 It’s easy to let SX stress you out but don’t let it. 👏🏽 Enjoy it! 🙌🏽
